Oksana Luk you have stolen my heart. I am very proud to call you my fellow American citizen. Hold on to your dreams. They can come true. I was the youngest of seven siblings that lived in a very small town. My father made a modest living but we were not poor and our home was filled with love. There were only 27 kids in my high school’s graduating class in 1959. I graduated, served three years in the U. S. Army with a two year deployment in Germany and 90 days temporary duty in Turkey. When I returned home I soon married and we had a daughter. I worked my way through undergraduate school and then moved to the state capital where I worked my way through law school. I had the GI Bill helping me but I had to work full time to support my family. I went to work for an insurance company and stayed there 45 years. I was a successful executive and I loved my job. Retired now for about 10 years and living a good life with my bride of 60 years. See, the American dream can happen.

🚨INCREDIBLE: A 7-year-old girl was riding her bike when a stranger pulled up, grabbed her and forced her into his car. Her aunt, Alecia Swejkoski, saw it happen and sprinted toward the vehicle. Alecia threw herself halfway through the driver’s side window and started fighting him while her niece was still trapped inside. The man punched her, grabbed for the wheel and violently jerked the car forward and backward, trying to throw her off and get away. But Alecia kept one hand on the steering wheel and the other fighting to get his grip off the little girl. Then another driver, Scott Van Luven, saw what was happening and pulled his vehicle in front of the car to block the suspect in. He rushed over, helped pull the man out and held him there until police arrived. Alecia was hurt, but her niece got out safely. Because Alecia refused to let go and Scott chose to stop and help, that little girl made it safely back to her family.

A 13-year-old girl was kidnapped from her home. Hours later, a man stopping for gas noticed something that made his heart drop. It was the exact SUV from the Amber Alert, right in front of him. Daniel Cosby checked the plate, realized it matched, and called 911. But Daniel didn’t just make the call and drive away. He stayed behind the SUV for several miles, keeping it in sight and updating dispatch as deputies raced to catch up. When police finally moved in, the suspect, 45-year-old Jason Castillo, refused to stop and tried to flee. Deputies disabled the SUV and surrounded it. Inside, they found 13-year-old Juliet alive and unharmed. Daniel was just going about his day, but because he paid attention and refused to look away when it mattered, a missing girl made it home safely. So let’s share this story and give Daniel the recognition he deserves.

Serving as the White House Press Secretary over the past year and a half has been the honor and adventure of a lifetime. I am incredibly grateful to President Trump for granting me so many extraordinary opportunities, such as working in the West Wing and spending countless hours in the Oval Office, flying around the world and meeting foreign leaders, and traveling across our beautiful country and meeting Americans from all walks of life. Most of all, I am thankful to the President for entrusting me with the distinct privilege of speaking on his behalf at the White House podium. I have spoken with great pride about the many historic accomplishments of this Administration, and I have relished holding the liberal media accountable and ensuring the American people hear the truth about President Trump’s successes. Being a mother and welcoming a new baby while working in one of the most demanding jobs in the world has been the most rewarding yet challenging season of my life, to say the least. The truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary — and that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House and embark on a new chapter in my life. President Trump has asked me to continue serving as a top advisor to him on the outside, and I will always remain a vocal advocate for MAGA and the Republican Party. Our country is facing an existential threat from an increasingly extremist Democrat Party that seeks to destroy everything great about America, and I believe it is incumbent upon all of us who care about this country to fight back against that threat. My fight is entering a new phase, but it is far from over. Thank you again to the President, the First Lady, and the entire Trump family for your kindness and generosity over the years. Thank you to our amazing Chief of Staff Susie Wiles for empowering me since the day she hired me on the campaign, and to the President’s cabinet, my staff, colleagues, and friends at the White House who work so hard on behalf of our nation. It has been a privilege to serve alongside so many accomplished and impressive people, and I look forward to cheering them on over the next two and a half years. And of course, thank you most especially to my loving and supportive husband and family for the sacrifices they made for me to serve in this role. ♥️🇺🇸

Three young children, ages 3 to 5, started to drown underneath a capsized boat as their parents screamed for help. The boat had flipped with nine people on board, and while the others made it out, the three smallest children were still trapped underneath. Their parents couldn’t reach them, and every second they remained under the water mattered. Nearby, Jason Horne heard their screams. He told his 12 year old daughter to call 911, jumped into the water and dove underneath the overturned boat. He found the first child and pulled him out conscious and coughing. Then Jason went back underneath and found a 5 year old girl who wasn’t breathing. He got her onto the overturned boat and immediately started CPR until she finally gasped and opened her eyes. But there was still another child trapped underneath. Jason dove back in. The third child, a 3 year old boy, was eventually pulled free tangled in rope and without a pulse. Jason immediately began CPR for a second time as they rushed toward shore, and before they reached the dock, the little boy started breathing. All three children survived. Jason went under that boat again and again until every one of those kids was breathing. I think a dad like that deserves a little recognition today.

Do you remember why they called her Hanoi Jane? 🇺🇸 54 years ago, Jane Fonda went to North Vietnam and turned her back on our own troops. She posed on an enemy anti-aircraft gun while American POWs were being tortured. Our veterans never forgot. Betraying our troops is not something you just get a pass for.

According to this ESNZ Committee report, Mad Miliband’s Clean Power mission, which prioritises low-density and intermittent wind and solar, should be compared to the French nuclear programme of the 1980s. And since when did anyone claim that hydrocarbon import dependency is a strength??? I support shale gas, maximising recovery from the North Sea and more nuclear precisely because I want to reduce our dependence on imported hydrocarbons. And MPs have really got to stop pretending that decarbonisation and hydrocarbon security are simple trade-offs. They are not. This morning’s story about Chinese EVs and tariffs shows that our increased dependence on Chinese manufacturing capability and supply chains creates its own strategic vulnerabilities. We now face a choice between allowing latent defence-industrial capacity to be hollowed out and risking retaliatory measures from China if we act to protect it. As Sir Richard Dearlove, the former head of MI6, argued yesterday evening at the @GWPF_org’s annual lecture, once you allow critical industries and technologies to migrate abroad, you also hand leverage to the countries that control them. In peacetime, that dependence may look like an efficient supply chain. In a crisis, it becomes leverage. It can constrain foreign and defence policy, create critical choke points and give strategic competitors the ability to withhold the goods, components and replacement equipment on which we depend. That is not energy security either.
Communicating the costs and benefits of addressing climate change to businesses and consumers is the single biggest step the Government can take to build support for the energy transition. Read the ESNZ Committee’s new report: committees.parliament.uk/com…
