Smart consumers wouldn't use these apps at all. Uber was in the negative for years. Kept afloat by investors until they overcame cab services. Once everyone got accustomed to them the raised the prices. Ppl just adapted to paying more. Now they're doing the same to incentivize priority pickup. Y'all gon keep paying them. Either delete the apps and find another way or just give them all the money and time they demand

The other day I waited for a driver for 25 mins to get me and he literally cancelled the ride 3 mins outside from my apartment complex?? Then I literally had to wait another 15 mins for a new driver and when I told uber support they literally didn’t even care and said next time do priority but when I do priority it’s never the time they quote anyways and it the same amount of wait time as the wait and save 😬

Literally pissss me offfff. They are becoming more than a problem. Twice I had ones who did not cancel my ride and stayed circling the block and kept declining my call. The next time this happens I’ll make my way to them and ask that’s what’s good Miley. Fix up @Uber_Canada

Uber eats are the worst for this.. I had a driver on a bicycle 20 mins away then once they had the food they just stopped for like 15 mins …

The closer drivers aren’t picking u up if you’re a below 4.90 non tipping ass customer. We see what the customer is rated as well. This isn’t charity rides

Lol yall do realize they match yall with whoever is available or what ride type you picked right? I thought this was common sense. A driver can’t simple pick up the nearest rider without Uber sending them the request.

They’re accepting rides they know they’re too far for, then crawling across the map while you watch the ETA climb. Half the time it’s the app force-feeding them distant jobs so they don’t tank their acceptance rate.

How the fuck do you know that's not the closest driver to you?

That’s Uber’s fault. They give the ride to the driver that’s 17 minutes away and would penalize drivers for having low acceptance rates if they declined it. They want you to cancel and ask for the priority pick up for a premium. They’re conditioning you to eventually do it.

Prob rated too low tbh. I know drivers that won’t pick up anyone below 4.9

Unfortunately gas and inflation overall is too high for them to accept low paying rides. Schedule your ride in advance, use Lyft instead or if you're in a major city see if any driverless options like Waymo are available.

Then messaging you like “I’m here” like damn it took you 20min to get to me can I have 2 min to walk outside and find you?

as an Uber Driver, when jobs are dry we have to accept far jobs. So if someone has accepted a job far from you, it means he’s got nothing else coming in

That’s uber bro. The reason you get drivers farther away is because the closer drivers declined the shit pay uber gives. Drivers have no control over this.

Unfortunately not the drivers fault all the time, these apps are lowering the quality threshold for services on both the driver and delivery side. They shouldnt even get offered those jobs and they get algorithmically penalized for turning jobs down. It’s happening in rideshare and food delivery. They hate us!

Theyll accept the ride and have you waiting outside for 40 minutes like a prostitute while they drive across the entire city to get you

People are out control complaining about 15 to 17 minutes. We can always go back to calling cabs that took over an HR to arrive if they arrived at all

And then the estimated wait time before booking be straight lies !

Problem is: with the upfront fares, they will pay based on how far away driver is. So if the driver around the corner, they'll offer peanuts, so the closest driver wont necesarily take it.

There’s a “wait and save” option. I’d wager a lot of people are doing that accident.

So uber is assigning your drivers. Drivers do not get to scroll a list of eligible riders. Uber connects you to who’s available based on your preference of ride. With gas this high, why would a driver want to go out of the way when uber takes 60 percent of the $$? Hope this helps

one was like 10 mins away he was around the corner from the pick up and cancelled. i’ve never wanted to punch someone sooo bad

You know they are not allowed to decline rides right? Surely you were offered to the rider that’s 17 mins away cuz there were no other closer riders found after some minutes of searching So it’s not anyone’s fault, do you really think the rider wants to come all this way?

That only happens when the uber drivers close to you declines your offers prolly cus you didn’t tip and it wasn’t worth their gas/time so uber sends it to drivers farther away and one of them accepts so technically it’s your fault 🤣

Driver picked up my food 4 minutes away from me. Proceeded to go to the other side of town, then dropped off another 3 orders before mine arrived over one hour later freezing cold sitting on the back seat in no heated bag. @Uber has no quality control.
