Also a good reminder to not connect your vault/cold wallets to marketplaces, as an exploit like this would leave you vulnerable. Ledgers protect you at point of signature, but in this case the ability to allow Limit Break (due to Magic Eden) to transact on your behalf sidesteps the ledger and acts as a second point of authority. I'm seeing so many on the timeline surprised by this.

1/ @Creepz has blocked Limit Break's Payment Processor V2 at the contract level. Even wallets that never revoked are covered: PP V2 can no longer move any Creepz. OpenSea, Blur, transfers and staking are unaffected. Some other collections can do the same. Here's who and how 🧵

I thought I dodged it, as my NFTs were not taken. Getting off work now and noticed my WETH is gone. I was not hit as hard as many of you, but still think I'm going to go for a walk or something. Blah.

A major NFT exploit has drained millions over the past 24 hours. Magic Eden itself was NOT hacked. Attackers exploited an old Limit Break Payment Processor contract that Magic Eden used for EVM trades in 2024. The issue was leftover wallet approvals that never expired, allowing attackers to steal NFTs and approved tokens like WETH without the owners signing anything. Over $2.8M was reportedly stolen before @0xQuit used the same exploit to rescue 23,000+ vulnerable NFTs worth over $5.7M into a custody wallet. The NFTs are expected to be returned once affected owners revoke the compromised approvals. If you used Magic Eden’s EVM marketplace in 2024, revoke your old approvals ASAP.
