Interestingly enough, the state of Montana was threatened with having federal funding for local infrastructure development cut if they didn’t adopt federal speed limit regulations into state law. In the case that the Montana State Legislature & Supreme Court used as their evidence to argue that the “reasonable and prudent law” was too vague, the defendant of the case the state government used (Rudy Stanko) was going 5 mph over the current interstate speed limit.
Not 5 years after this, my family, friends, and neighbors were promised that if we just supported a “federally-sponsored” war on terror, we could defeat terrorism and make America safe, and thereby our immediate community better.
27 years later, our roads and bridges in cities aren’t fixed until it’s a crisis (if at all), county roads are left unmaintained, and the materials and labor used are helping make foreign nations rich while. My hometown (which was 100% white when I was born), is now accepting nons into the community faster than I can keep track of. On top of that, the state has created laws that would penalize citizens who would take small actions and fix these things out of duty. It blows my mind that I can’t plow my street in the winter to help out my neighbors without risk of being fined by the local government. It took less than 30 years to transform an area where friendly hospitality of neighbors was expected and doors could be left unlocked to an economic zone where I’m on guard as soon as my “neighbors” are within a 500 ft. vicinity of me.
I say this all to help people realize that ~<85% of the time, the policies that are floated by our “aristocracy,” have nothing to do with your well being. I may not have a personal relationship with everyone in the current administration, but if they are like any of my local politicians, they are nothing but whores, entertainers, and degenerate capitalists. That’s not to say that there no good policies or people in our political system, but to think that these people aren’t in it for their own personal gain, especially when the majority of their bank account histories demonstrate this, is ludicrous. The only motivations these people have are to try and become their own god, to see how much they can get away with, and to cover up the things they couldn’t get away with.
Good opportunity to point out that in my lifetime, Montana had neither speed limits nor open container laws.
