#OTD in #LaborHistory, 1937, the "Battle of the Overpass" happened at the Ford plant in Dearborn. UAW organizers planned to distribute leaflets, but were attacked by security. A news photographer on scene documented the beatings. This lead to Ford's first union contract in 1941.
