Look, I get our economy's not doing great, and it's easy to doompost about that, but if you know literally anything about Iran, the idea that they're enjoying a super low cost of living that Americans should look upon with envy is obvious propaganda.
Keep in mind...
1. In 1979, one dollar was worth 70 rial. Today, it's worth over 1.3 million.
2. The rial is currently worth 3% of what it was at the beginning of this year.
3. Iranians often purchase foreign currency at a massively marked up price to have a currency that will both be accepted by international businesses and also not be completely fucking worthless. Same reason the US dollar and euro are well known to have tremendous purchasing power in Iran.
4. All oil and natural gas in Iran is owned by the government, and virtually all of it is domestically produced.
5. The guy in the video is speaking English, using the Gregorian calendar, and directly addressing Americans.
Americans are in complete shock at how much items cost in Iran

- 1 gallon of gas is 3 cents
- 2 gallons of Diesel is 1 cent
- A carton of eggs is 5 cents
- A gallon of milk is 12 cents

But also keep in mind the monthly income is much lower too. Iranians make about $130-$400 or so per month. So of course prices are going to be lower but I think most Americans would be shocked to see how low prices are in other countries
