A mixed reaction to NUFC win y’day, & the reality is that both takes can be true.
They found a way amid injuries & on the back of an awful night at Leeds. There were also some v good individual displays. The points return after 5 games is definitely above par.
But think back to England vs Mexico & the precedent it set re defending a lead (that mindset led to Argentina). As we saw last season, failure to control a lead cost 27 points.
To ignore the last 30mins (hanging on in the goalmouth after being 2-0 up after 7mins) is dangerous - just like the warning signs vs B’mouth & Millwall that ultimately led to Leeds.
With players back, the aim has to be to control the ball/game/territory far better.
As I said, a big, big win, but as a blueprint for seeing out a game, it has to be a one-off.
