A few key strategies you should steal for your routine:
1. Have a script and a “why” for every pitch
2. Fix location/movement immediately… DO NOT accept sloppy reps. You’re either lazy or afraid of failing
3. Throw similar pitches back-to-back (cutter then sweeper) so you can feel the difference
4. Primary pitch gets the volume
5. End with count-based dummy ABs vs both sides

I remember being frustrated about not throwing a 4th cutter immediately in this AB. I just said I didn’t think he could hit it, and wasted two pitches before throwing another one. Here’s this hitter’s next at-bat, where I didn’t make the same mistake. 3 cutters, 3 strikes for the K. You see how frustrated he is, because he knew I was going to do it and just couldn’t get to it. Don’t ignore obvious things like this

I never played one inning in the Major Leagues.
For years, that felt like failure.
I was a high draft pick.
I reached Triple-A at 20.
But then I got hurt, became battle-tested, and after 11 seasons, the game moved on without me.
But baseball wasn’t finished with my story.
The game that once broke me gave me the perspective to help the next generation navigate it.

Simple east-west strategy with sinker-sweeper combo
1st pitch sinker away missed for a ball

2nd pitch just a get-me-over sweeper. Thank god he didn’t swing.

3rd pitch is my bread and butter, the sinker down and in. Saw exactly what I wanted to see. He swings, but can’t get to it and fouls it into his leg.
