.@Morpho Midnight is live. Fixed rate, fixed term, fixed maturity. A single market can permit up to 128 collaterals, and bad debt is socialized across it. So a lender's loss can be driven by collateral they never financed 🧵

/ There is no shared liquidity pool. Lending is organized as direct lender-to-borrower positions, priced through executable offers. The claims are tradable, so the pairing does not have to survive the life of the loan.

/ Markets settle on fixed calendar dates. Same collateral, different maturity, and it is a separate market with its own configuration and its own loss pool. WHYPE maturing in September and WHYPE maturing in December are two different risk objects.

/ Each collateral carries its own price feed and its own LLTV. Maximum debt is the sum of every activated collateral's value, taken at its own LLTV. Four activated collaterals means four price feeds that all have to hold.

/ Liquidation has two paths. The familiar one: the position becomes unhealthy. The new one: maturity arrives with debt outstanding, and the position is liquidatable regardless of health, through a 60-minute Dutch auction.

/ Bad debt is realized immediately at liquidation, regardless of how much collateral the liquidator takes. On Blue a position can sit observably insolvent while better-informed lenders exit first. That window is much shorter here.

/ The risk factors themselves stay constant. Collateral price movement, collateral impairment, feed reliability, contract risk. So the framework carries over.

/ Positions decompose into individual loan-collateral pairs. Each pair is tranched by loan-to-value, its price feed classified, then simulated for the probability it ends in bad debt. That output is the Probability of Significant Loss (PSL).

/ Two model parameters change. Simulation horizon becomes time to maturity, because the terminal date is known at origination. Liquidity discount gets heavier, because offer-based liquidity is sourced at fill and sits uncommitted until then.

/ The unit of analysis moves. Assessing the loan you funded is insufficient. Your PSL is set by every collateral the market permits and every position it holds. On Midnight, you underwrite the market.

Good risk breakdown. One practical point for lenders: once you’re in a fixed-term position, early exit is still painful. That’s why we built Plumb → standing bid at a known discount so you can leave in one tx. Testnet live
