I look at AI citations all day. These are the 5 AI SEO myths I see the most:
1/ "Good backlinks = good AI visibility"
Nope.
Citations double as backlinks. Backlinks don't double as citations.
2/ "Just go hard on Reddit"
Moderation is brutal now.
I wouldn't build an AI visibility strategy on Reddit at scale.
3/ "I'll just pay for it like ads"
You can't. (Yet.)
You show up by being on the pages AI already cites.
4/ "High DR links will fix it"
AI doesn't care about DR. It doesn't even know what DR is.
What works:
→ find the questions your buyers ask AI
→ pull the sources AI cites in those answers
→ get links on exactly those pages
5/ "GEO and AEO are a whole new thing"
It's all SEO.

domain rating (DR) is lowkey something you dont really have to look at when doing AI SEO
a domain with 19 DR can still get 200+ citations across all the major models, while being way more valuable than an expensive SERP ranking backlink
think about it, ai does not give a shit about DR, they care about reputation and information
get many of those, and ai will keep recommending you
