My kids are finally back from their aunt’s after being away for over a week. I was having a nap when they came back, and I was woken up by the biggest, tightest hugs. 😍 My daughter said, “8 days is too long to miss my dad.” 🥹 Her little brother added, “Let’s squeeze Dad like a lemon with our hugs.” 😂😂 They wrapped me up like a sausage in dough with their little arms, and I was completely mesmerised by the love. ❤️ Eventually, I managed to escape, threw them both on the bed, and the game began. 😁😁😁 The rest is history. 😂 QED.

Throughout last week, I intentionally started involving my 6-year-old in the kitchen and teaching her a few simple chores. She has now learned how to make stew, omelettes, boil rice and even air-fry proteins. The problem is… she now thinks she’s the one feeding the entire family. 😂😂 She’s already saying things like, “Dad, you all seem to enjoy my stew more than your own meals!” 😂 My mum had half a portion of the rice she cooked, and my brother even said “My stew is better than Mum’s and Dad’s.” 😂😂 This is what I’m going through for trying to involve a 6-year-old in the kitchen. I thought I was teaching my daughter life skills. I didn’t realise I was training my replacement! 😂😂 At this point, I need help. 😢😂
