The icing on the cake here is this super spammy ad below your tweet, you know, just to remind users what a dump this platform is #RIPTwitter

ad prices are so cheap on twitter that we have fallen into alt-right conspiracy website tier of ads.

Yeahhhh, I'm now being shown "meet women near you" dating ads like I've landed on some dodgy file sharing site. One of them features a woman wearing a sheer see-through top, and a partial view of her uncovered genitals. Things are going great for Twitter, I guess?

I follow some NSFW artists on Twitter and even I would find that to be pretty yikes. 😅

“on [the] web” implies new accounts can still tweet via the app but it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s not actually true.

These are the signposts of a platform in decline. There was life before Twitter. There will be life after Twitter. Those preparing now will fare best. Branch out. Be free. Interoperate.

Unfortunately, this does not sound like it will stop the spam follower accounts, nor the spam likers. On the other hand, maybe that’s why I’ve gotten so many more of them recently vs. other types of spam.
