there's something distinctly sad about a business propped up by stores full of adults buying toys for themselves

Adults buying toys for themselves is the real story. Nostalgia is the strongest drug in retail and Toys R Us finally figured out how to sell it.

Thatโ€™s because Toys R Us want that Pokemon card money feeding frenzy like this. - Everyone wants Pokemon cards again. (Well MORE people want it again.) ๐Ÿคฃ

This is BIG (pun intended) . . . Toys "R" Us is coming back, they closed their remaining stores in June โ€˜18 after bankruptcy. IMO they need to make this more than a store store+play gym+kids only area+hangout with a small admittance fee+food court like an inside theme park/store

Big with Tom Hanks and the late Robert Loggia at FAO Schwartz especially in the piano scene . . . x.com/OverThinking_ar/statusโ€ฆ Tangent but remembering toy stores from when I was a kid like this and Toys "R" Us. I canโ€™t help but think that todayโ€™s kids will never have that big toy store experience.
