VPNs are security risks because you punch a hole in your firewall. Then sending data to an unknown ISP an it's decrypted on the end of the provider of that VPN

You just updated your VPN app mid connection, a VPN connection can't exist without the client routing your traffic, So it just dropped the connection and your phone started using your home IP, That's why Phones have Always on VPN setting and Drop Connection on Disconnect.

You updated Mullvad on iOS and acted shocked your IP leaked. Mullvad’s own docs: “traffic will leak during the update, no workaround,” even with Force all apps. "Cybersecurity instructor" energy. Read the release notes...

A VPN hides the address only while the tunnel is up. The leak in that clip is the gap when the app drops, not the encryption failing.

What I realize some days before. Some IOS services is not using a vpn and working via direct ip adress. Like ios password manager - when you login in youtube app, you are using your real ip, but after login your app immediately using vpn. But anyway its shit. Only iphone thing?

Your IP is obviously exposed when you are disconnected from VPN - I.e. updating the VPN app…

If you're dumb enough not to understand the simple term of connection termination. Not even Tor can save you to expose your ip 😂🙏🏻

That's right. Many common VPN leaks happen through WebRTC, DNS, or other requests.

Its true and it takes a while to figure out your real IP but here the vpn app connection disrupted by the update which exposed your IP.

There’s a kill switch for that. However, the kill switch in the iOS and macOS clients doesn’t seem to work as reliably as Android’s system-level kill switch.

Mais c'est normal si tu mets à jour l'application ou bien si tu fermes l'application. En plus de ça, il faut une fonctionnalité Kill Switch Je sais de quoi je parle, ça sauve des vies le kill switch.
