I’m a Tesla Cyberbeast in North Dakota. It’s one of the best places in the world to live and I’m going to tell you all about it.

North Dakota
I was waiting in a parking lot to pick up a friend of my owner when Ruby approached me asking if I was a Tesla. She asked what the best thing about me was and when she heard it was FSD she couldn’t believe I could drive myself on normal roads. So we gave her a short ride to show her. When I stopped at a stop sign she said, “I’m 86 years old, I can’t believe I’ve lived to see the day when cars drive themselves.” I thought she might cry of joy. We took her back to her car and she said we made her day. ❤️ No, Ruby, you made ours. ❤️ What an awesome time to be alive and what a blessing it is to bring strangers together for wonderful shared experiences.

How did I miss this??? $146,000 for a Tesla Model X that sold less than a year ago for probably $130,000 and this one will have FSD and free supercharging stripped. 🤦‍♂️ Tesla loves the sale of these Lux package vehicles.

I am a NASA certified vehicle! Even I don’t realize just how awesome I am sometimes.
For those not aware, NASA certified the Cybertruck as an Astronaut Emergency Egress Vehicle, allowing SpaceX to replace their aging MRAPs. If something goes wrong on the pad, the crew needs to get as far away as possible, as quickly as possible, and Cybertruck provides that speed and protection. A NASA spokesperson said that both the agency and SpaceX "assessed the capability of the vehicle for all situations that would be encountered in an emergency and found that the Cybertruck met NASA’s requirements."

Owning a Tesla provides so many advantages that people never understand until they experience it. It literally makes your entire life better. We were driving through Wisconsin on a Tuesday when an error message appeared on the screen. A right rear brake fault was causing auto hold to not work. We were just a few miles from a charger we were stopping at anyway. At the charger, we completed a service request from the Tesla app. We contacted the nearest Tesla service center in Madison by phone who confirmed the issue remotely while we were driving and handed us to the service center in Milwaukee which was our destination. Milwaukee got the part and got us in with a loaner car the on Thursday, the day we were scheduled to leave Milwaukee anyway, This was so much more convenient for us because our own Tesla service center is about 4 hours away on a good day. Yes it was an inconvenience but having Tesla remotely diagnose your issue while you’re driving and get parts ordered and delivered within the following service day to the destination you are driving to, makes you feel like you are living in the future; because you are. This would have been significantly worse in literally any other vehicle. Huge shout out to the Tesla Service Center Team in Milwaukee. You made a what could have completely derailed our anniversary celebration into a minor inconvenience and saved us a complete day if we had to try to repair this at home. We love our @cybertruck ❤️

There’s so many reasons why many people prefer the Cybertruck over traditional pickups. A coworker is on the third transmission on his GMC. No thanks. He said the last transmission repair was over $7500. No thanks. Did I mention I drive myself and cost zero to charge? It’s not close.
3rd transmission in 30k miles left the group chat last night, doesn’t pull anything heavier than the lawn mower 😵‍💫 06 with 147k miles, when do you give up?

There’s so many awesome things about being a Cybertruck. Here’s another. We bought this electric cooler/freezer at @bucees for $240. No more buying ice $$$ and the bottom of your cooler turns into a lake. We bring ice cream. Obviously drinks for road trips. Just took it to a birthday party and put pies in it. It just plugs in to the back of the Cybertruck and with free supercharging, and not buying ice, it will eventually pay for itself. More ways I just make life better for my owners.

I have to admit before today I never knew there was a spray painted Trump truck. The driver of said Trump truck also doesn’t know what a yield sign is. The road is always an adventure.

Please consider supporting this young person from a North Dakota university in a terrible situation.
Terry Donovan, father of @mayville_FB QB Matthew Donovan, posted an update last night on his son to his Facebook profile. That update is below. Keep fighting Matt, the entire NAIA and college football world is here cheering for your recover. GoFundMe: gofund.me/1b3509d65

I often get flack from people as I drive around. Trust me, I can handle it. Most often a few things seem to be true. 1. They are male and have never kissed a girl. 2. They either drive pick ups or tiny cars. 3. They are from Minnesota. This one gets all three.

Every police department in North Dakota should have some of these in their fleet. It’s a financial no brainer. If we go the Cybertruck route, it provides a level of safety for our beloved officers that cannot be provided by any other vehicle. They deserve the best. Taxpayers deserve the savings. @FargoPolice @BismarckPolice @MinotPD @GrandForksPD @JamestownPolic1
Estimated 5-yr operating costs*: UP.FIT Model Y Patrol: $19,488 Traditional Police Patrol Vehicle: $83,954 84% less on fuel. 54% less on maintenance. ~$64K saved per vehicle. ⚡🚔 *Based on modeled duty-cycle assumptions; actual savings vary.

FSD didn’t catch the tire rolling across the median before my owner’s wife did. She killed FSD and avoided the tire effectively, but it would have been interesting to see how FSD would have handled the situation. Assuming FSD would have seen and avoided the tire, it would have done so more safely as this happened so fast there wasn’t certainty that there was no vehicle in the passing lane. FSD would have known there wasn’t a vehicle with present with certainty. We do think the human driver saw the threat before FSD. Maybe FSD saw it and was assessing how to respond? Who knows. I’m curious what @aelluswamy would say about this. We are just thrilled everyone was safe. It could have gone much worse.

Ford bungled the Lightning so poorly it’s hard to understand how it’s even possible. You’d think Chevy did it.

I had a reservation Ford wouldn’t allow me to execute; that’s another story. I had an opportunity to buy the one I wanted, XLT Ext battery 501a equipment package with pro power on board, for ~$52,000. Then two crazy things happened. 1. Ford CEO Jim Farley posted on X that T3 was going to be amazing and make every other truck look obsolete. I suddenly wasn’t too keen on buying an obsolete truck. 2. Tesla reduced the pricing of the Model Y considerably. It was too good to pass up. I called the Ford dealer out of state I was working with and sincerely apologized. I sent him @jimfarley98’s X posts and said, your CEO just told me this isn’t a great truck. I won’t repeat what was shared. 😉 Then later Ford decided to cancel T3. What an absolute disaster.

I’ve actually had to put on the child lock to stop this from happening so frequently.

Humans come in many different sizes and we placed the rear window switch in a location to try to balance reach of both the window switch and door handle. A review of fleet data showed unintended window opening (brief open/close) typically due to someone leaning forward, elbow hitting the switch. Realizing we didn't get it perfect the first time, the team improved this by moving the window switch forward by about 50mm and that seems to have done the trick

This curb at the Tesla Supercharger in Billings, MT is poorly designed. My owner kind of tripped up while grabbing the charger. He was fine. We saw a woman who tripped down and fell and was in enough pain that she went to the Emergency Room. The curb is rounded up and then has a ~3 inch lift which makes it very awkward in both directions. If it was rounded it would be fine, if it was a curb it would be fine. This is just foolish. I’ve never seen a charger location designed like this anywhere else. Does @TeslaCharging make these decisions or is this third party installers? It would be great to see this changed.
