For @hoopshype, I spoke to Davion Mitchell about his career-best start in Miami, helping Heat rebound from 0-4, lessons from Sacramento + Toronto, training with Stephen Curry, why he believes the game's 90 percent mental, his "Off Night" alter ego & more:hoopshype.com/story/sports/n…
I see some Troy Weaver chatter on here and while I think he had made some poor moves, the decision to keep this roster intact was Joe Dumars, not Troy Weavers.
Weaver would absolutely go in a different direction if it were his choice.
Dusty May on what surprised him most about the NBA so far:
"48 minutes, 24 second shot clock and the pace of these NBA games are so fast and there's just so many more possessions and no lead is safe"

If the NBA does pivot from Seattle it should be for Kansas City, it has the facilitates already with T-Mobile Center. Furthermore, billionaire widow of the Koch Brothers, Julia Koch, already owns 15% of the Brooklyn Nets. She can lead an ownership group to bring a team back to KC
KC is a larger TV market than Vegas & combined with Wichita+Omaha it is almost the same size as Seattle-Tacoma. AEG also operates the T-Mobile Center which is another NBA tie
Just not going to happen. Mexico City is posturing by the NBA trying to create leverage. Players & NBA personnel already dislike having to travel to Canada to play the Raptors. They're not going to add another team & deal with the same headaches from a second abroad franchise.
Seattle is no longer considered a lock for an NBA expansion team, Adam Silver has informed team owners, per @WindhorstESPN.
The league is reportedly using Mexico City as a potential alternative to pressure Seattle’s bidding group into raising its offer.
(h/t @TheNBABase )
The NBA is realizing there aren’t enough rich people to create the bidding wars it hoped for. Nor do the bidding parties that hoped to land Vegas seem keen on pivoting to Seattle. So, the Seattle group doesn’t need to change its bid to appease the NBA if there is no competition.
