Hey all, I've drafted a bill for the US House of Representatives called the 'Single-Subject Legislation and Review Act.' It requires all future legislation to be single-subject only and includes a mandatory review period based on average reading speeds for comprehension. What do you think? Should this become law? A Bill To require all future legislation in the United States Congress to address a single subject and to provide a mandatory review period for reading and comprehension based on the average reading speed of American citizens. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.This Act may be cited as the "Single-Subject Legislation and Review Act". SECTION 2. SINGLE-SUBJECT REQUIREMENT.(a) Requirement.—All bills, joint resolutions, and amendments introduced in either House of Congress after the date of enactment of this Act shall pertain to one subject only, which shall be clearly expressed in the title of the legislation.(b) Enforcement.—Any legislation violating subsection (a) shall be ruled out of order by the presiding officer of the respective House upon point of order raised by any member. SECTION 3. MANDATORY REVIEW PERIOD.(a) Requirement.—No bill, joint resolution, or amendment shall be brought to a vote in either House of Congress until it has been made publicly available in its final form for a review period sufficient for reading and comprehension.(b) Calculation of Review Period.—The review period under subsection (a) shall be at least the sum of—(1) the time required to read the full text of the legislation at the average silent reading speed of American adults, which is 238 words per minute; and(2) an additional 50 percent of the time calculated under paragraph (1) to allow for comprehension.(c) Word Count Determination.—The word count of the legislation shall be determined by the Clerk of the House of Representatives or the Secretary of the Senate, as applicable, using standard word-processing software, excluding tables of contents, indices, and non-substantive formatting.(d) Minimum Period.—Notwithstanding subsection (b), the review period shall not be less than 24 hours.(e) Waiver.—The review period may be waived only by a two-thirds vote of the members present and voting in the respective House. SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE.This Act shall take effect 30 days after the date of its enactment.

I’m at Superior Court in Thurston county listening to arguments for and against SB5974 before the judge rules. A majority of the arguments are regarding “hate groups” affiliation. An example of a hate group, and this should scare every one of you, is if you belong to a house of worship that has a “traditional position” on genders. You heard that correctly. If you belong to a church who knows there are only two genders, you belong to a hate group.

Donald Trump cheated in 2016. Donald Trump tried to cheat in 2020 and got caught. Donald Trump cheated again in 2024. We MUST pass nationwide voter ID laws to stop Donald Trump from cheating again in 2028 and save our democracy. Pass the SAVE AMERICA ACT now!! 🇺🇦💉😷✊🏿

If Republicans passed the SAVE America Act, the midterms would be the easiest fight of their life. So, why didn't they?

The White House posted this. I am so thankful that Donald Trump is President today. And not a Democrat. Because we all know exactly how today would have gone otherwise…

Did you know??? Your retirement account is now on the tax menu and Olympia is hungry Thread 1/13 Previous WA state law specifically exempted retirement money from taxation and other state confiscation. “Subject to subsections (2), (3), and (4) of this section, the right of a person to a retirement allowance, disability allowance, or death benefit, to the return of accumulated contributions, the retirement, disability or death allowance itself, any optional benefit, any other right accrued or accruing to any person under the provisions of this chapter, and the moneys in the fund created under this chapter, are hereby exempt from any state, county, municipal, or other local tax and shall not be subject to execution, garnishment, attachment, the operation of bankruptcy or insolvency laws, or any other process of law whatsoever, whether the same be in actual possession of the person or be deposited or loaned and shall be unassignable.” However The new WA state unconstitutional income tax explicitly names and eliminates that exemption effectively repealing the protection— the legislature amended eleven statutes and add a sentence to each one. Not one single newspaper (looking at you Seattle Times) has covered this in any detail whatsoever…. Read the actual RCW wording and find the link yourself below for each of the individual retirement plans.

$4,000 per year per American. That’s how much interest we are paying on the debt to banks & foreign countries every year. A family of four owes $16,000 per year for nothing but interest on the debt! I lost my re-election because I voted against the policies that caused this.

Why did a private citizen with no official public health role get security clearance to sit in on government pandemic discussions? Bill Gates helped shape COVID policy, and Americans never got to vote on it.

So, TURN IN YOUR BALLOTS! The primary election is more important than the general election because the primary determines who we are stuck with after the general election. I'm going to give you my picks for some important races in Pierce County. I'm putting the judge races first because they are often overlooked, and they are super important.
