The Office of Clean City (OCC), one of DPW’s newest offices, is taking a proactive approach to addressing illegal dumping and keeping neighborhoods clean across the District. In Ward 8, OCC removed: • 20 compressed gas cylinders and propane/LPG tanks • 21 illegally dumped pallets • Materials from a recurring dumping hotspot At Nash Run, OCC joined DOEE for a cleanup that removed 32, 60-gallon bags of debris, including: • 638 pounds of litter • 840+ gallons of single-use plastics • ~4,900 plastic bottles The work is happening. The impact is adding up. And OCC is just getting started.

DPW’s Rodent Control Unit (RCU) investigators received special recognition from the 3rd District Citizens Advisory Council (3D CAC) for their ongoing collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
