Ben Affleck says there’s an ongoing “tension” at DC over whether comic book movies should be made for adults or family-friendly audiences: “It seems to be an ongoing question, and I don’t know the answer: Do you go all the way to a hard-R rating like ‘Joker’? Or do it like Marvel, which does something broad, unless you’re talking about ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’? The interesting thing with the DC characters [comes down] to the legacy of Frank Miller. There seems to be more tension between, ‘Are we doing the grown-up version or the one that’s open to kids?’ There’s a risk of being a feathered fish.” Read the full cover story: wp.me/pc8uak-1lHTZ5

I concur and told Zack myself back in the day, “This is your Blade Runner film that will be with you for all time.”
Christopher Nolan says he believed Zack Snyder’s ‘WATCHMEN’ was ahead of its time. “The idea of a superhero team, which it so brilliantly subverts, wasn’t yet a thing in movies. It would have been fascinating to see it released post-Avengers.” (Source: hollywoodreporter.com/movies…)

"Public Opinion" Hmmmmmmmm 🤔😏
Reportedly, David Ellison is VERY concerned with how any firings land regarding public opinion Him keeping HBO head, Casey Bloys, was largely attributed to how the public would react if he let him go and possibly damage HBO brand post merger So this is the "blueprint" imo to how he will proceed firing any WB execs I still think Pam Abdy & Mike DeLuca will be retained at least thru their current contract which runs to 2030 Also I think firing them would reflect negatively on WB pictures brand overall My question is: Would firing James Gunn do any damage to DC brand? 🤔

Normally id say i told you so But we saw it coming "PANIC"
BOOM!!! Warner Bros. staffers are panicking as the Paramount takeover closes in — and fingers are pointing at Supergirl. Deadline reports key employees believe DC Studios “chose the wrong comic book character to adapt.” The James Gunn-produced movie cost $186 million net and finished with just $126.3 million worldwide. Now staffers are worried about cuts, exits, and even whether the Warner Bros. brand survives the merger. more: cosmicbook.news/supergirl-wr…

The "True SnyderVerse" will be in theaters @DavidAyerMovies @ZackSnyder
A telling development: per Bloomberg, Paramount now says it will “pay” $30 million per film if they fall short of their 30 film *distribution* pledge. Who will they pay? The crews they would have hired? The theater owners with empty seats? No. It will be some fund that a government official has to then distribute. Rent is due on the 1st of the month, not two years from now. And they’re no longer even pledging to *make* 30 films a year. Just to distribute that amount; as Marla points out, this would include re-releases. All of this is of course ambiguous and tbd but this is not good. Like most behavioral remedies, it will be next to impossible to meaningfully enforce, and even then, enforcement will be difficult and after the fact.

Bloomberg now says the parties are discussing a structure under which Paramount would owe $30 million for every theatrical release below the 30-film annual target. That means this is no longer just a vague “we promise to support theaters” commitment. It is being converted into

I still think Gunn is part of the layoffs happening by the end of this year Paramount/WB have plans for DC They want to get started quickly as possible Managing DC moving forward without him in the way is easier Either this year or early next, he won't be in charge of DC
The Paramount-Warner Bros. merger now has the all-clear signal, and staffers are gearing up for multiple rounds of layoffs in the next few months. “There will be a race to get this done in the fourth quarter,” said one exec, noting that the job cuts would likely be just the first round, as it would be impossible to accomplish the level of expected layoffs all in one swoop. Said another: “I don’t see a world where they’re not laying off a bunch of people before the end of the year. I think there are many people in the industry who don’t even understand the toll it’s going to take.” variety.com/2026/tv/news/par…

Paramount has reached a deal with 12 state attorneys general that removes a major obstacle to closing its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The deal comes just before the company was to begin accruing a $7 million daily “ticking fee” on Oct. 1. variety.com/2026/film/news/p…

True SnyderVerse Theatrical Rerelease Imminent Quota must be met!
Settlement talks for the Warner Bros/Paramount merger reportedly include a financial penalty if they fail to distribute 30 films per year theatrically. They would have to pay $30M for every film that falls short of that target. (Source: bloomberg.com/news/articles/…)

Grace is really really behind on things
I believe sometime this year it will be announced that he is returning. When exactly I dont know. I heard WB want Supergirl to have its chance to see how it performs at the box office 1st before the announcement Hearing the studio is not confident in the film performing well
