Since I've gained about 1k followers in the past 2 days, I figure I should properly introduce myself. Howdy! I'm Jackson. I'm an 18 YO storm chaser from the DFW metro. I've been storm chasing for 7 years with help of my parents. I'm also interested in history, geography, cars, video games, and college sports (Hook em'). I'm a cancer survivor and suffer from a PI, so medical issues may be discussed on here. I'm planning on studying meteorology at the University of South Alabama come this fall, and I'm hoping to eventually get a masters degree at OU. My notable achievements are: -Driving in a roundabout for an hour -Listening to a funny Deltarune song -Getting stuck in the mud -Being deemed "Texan final boss" I do everything in honor of the friends who I've lost on the path to be where I am today (JD, NN, DB, GS, HLM, DM, JH, CH). Particularly concerned about the flooding threat around the Ross Fire burn scare Wed-Friday. Rare, back to back D4/D5 moderate risks are in place for excessive rainfall, with models printing out multiple inches of rain in a short period of time. Couple that with dry, drought-stricken soils, a large burn scar, and very hilly terrain around the Brazos River, this is a recipe for significant, life threatening flooding. The heaviest totals may shift, but for now, if you’re in any of the surrounding burn scar areas, stay aware and pay attention to the forecast this week.

Alien Mothership 🛸 Never-before-seen video I captured of the incredible Beaver, Oklahoma supercell on June 25, 2026. This absolute mothership of a storm churned across the Oklahoma Panhandle for several hours, producing a cone tornado shortly after this timelapse.

TLDR: Too much wind shear in the Southern Atlantic Basin (Tropical cyclones do not like wind shear) Lack of precursor tropical disturbances so 99% of the time they have to come from nontropical origin, which is rarer than storms coming from tropical origin.
