PEBBLES, the stunning, international champion mare by Sharpen Up, came to Aqueduct in 1985 and won the Breeders' Cup Turf. Strawberry Road was 2nd.
Ridden by Pat Eddery, the Clive Brittain trainee was really something. Really (same for Clive, Pat, Strawberry Road).

Among the oldest Aqueduct negatives in my collections, here Muskallonge and Elected II head postward for the 4th race Sept. 20, 1922.
Muskellunge ran third, Elected was unplaced. But both were stakes winners other days!
Aqueduct had been around nearly 30 years by then.

Fan favorite FUNNY CIDE won the 2004 Excelsior at Aqueduct Racetrack, his first stakes win since the Kentucky Derby and Preakness the year before (bonus, another fan fav, Evening Attire, was a close second!).
FUNNY CIDE also won the Kings Point at Aqueduct in 2006.
