The pitch mix is another reason to like this matchup. Caminero has hit 6 home runs this season against the combination of pitches Lorenzen relies on most, giving him another stylistic edge heading into this game. While Lorenzen has generally been tougher on right-handed hitters allowing just a 0.77 HR/9 compared to 2.01 HR/9 against lefties the batter-versus-pitcher history here is hard to ignore.
When you combine Caminero’s success against Lorenzen, his ability to punish this specific pitch mix, and the confidence he should have from their previous meetings, this sets up as another excellent opportunity for Junior Caminero to leave the yard tonight.
