This is the most accurate opinion about FC27.
I agree with him with almost everything. Thoughts?
Need more time on the game but here are my thoughts so far:
Manual defending is a big skill gap, I'm enjoying being able to score goals against players who in previous FC's would've just relied on the AI to defend for them. It's so noticeable. Breath of fresh air.
Narrow feels king right now (big W imo)
The ball bounces back to my opponent a lot after tackles/interceptions. And first touches in general seem really loose.
Passing is ok, but so often I feel I'm aiming my pass at my attacker/midfielder and EA decide the pass needs to go via their midfielder/attacker. It's not "intercept is OP" it's like my passes are going in that direction instead of their player being insane at intercepting.
I feel like attackers are really good at closing down defenders, winning tackles and out strengthing defenders from behind alot. Noticing I'm both winning and losing a lot of balls from my CB trying to turn to make a pass and a striker just bodying them. Can't tell if I love or hate it atm.
Enjoying that you don't need lengthy to be quick. Pretty much every body type with high pace feels quick.
Finesse isn't ridiculously OP but good players with Finesse+ can still score them which is nice.
Idk if it's just me but I find it really hard to turn in the midfield & especially with a bigger player. Again not sure if I love it or hate it but as soon as I pass it to a CM or CDM I feel I have to pass it immediately after or I'll get caught out.
Keepers feel decent.
I really like the off balanced dribbling mechanic, but sometimes it truly is ridiculous. I agree that there's many instances that the attacker should still make it through after a defender has tried to win the 50/50 and failed but I've won the 50/50s many times and the attacker has still carried on running straight whilst my defender basically dives to the side 20 yards.
Idk if anyone else has had this, but sometimes I pass the ball or win a tackle and it switches me off my player completely. Like it just locks onto someone relatively close by. Very weird.
Player switching needs a bit of work imo.
Overall, enjoying it. It's not perfect, it needs a lot of work. I feel most are scared to say it though because the "skill gap" mob will obliterate anyone who mentions any imperfections because they're enjoying fidget spinning around clunky defenders. This game has a lot of potential. Partner the better gameplay with the gallery, SBC changes, (hopefully) the more coins on the market etc and this could be a banger of a game.
We just need EA to start making unique and engaging SBC and objective content again this year. It's so clear they just let AI do it all last year and it was awful because of it.
Would love to hear your thoughts on my opinion and your own experiences!
