I watched gold bugs repeat this mantra for twenty years.
And looking back, I saw they had done the same thirty years prior to when I started paying attention to what they opined.
They were wrong for some forty years, when bitcoiners started repeating the same message.
Many goldbugs and bitcoiners had studied money and the history of monetary policy.
They had filler their heads with information, but weren't curious enough to analyze the dynamics of a halfway market economy, and how policy makers exploited people's and society's ability to absorb economic shocks.
They didn't, for instance, notice how the people who control the printing press learned to exploit everything that can be exploited with having the monopol on money production.
Therefore the doomsayers ignored how the monopolists used deflation of the money supply to their advantage, instead focusing on the evils of inflation.
We might get hyperinflation.
But Bitcoin actually makes hyperinflation less, not more likely to happen.
