Before I lost my left foot I was heavily against Uber eats, and other delivery services. The 15% they added on menu prices, and then delivery fees, servce fees and tips. It made no sense yo use them while I lived two blocks from 2 grocery stores and 5 blocks from most restaurant chains.
Then I did lose my foot and moved to a home in the suburbs. For convenience, I had to start using them again. But today I canceled ny uber eats membership. The price gouging on that platform is absurd.
I loaded a $33 order from Wall Mart on Uber eats. the final price was $55. Yes, they were going to charge me $22 for that service.
I loaded the same delivery order on Skip The Dishes. Same order except I added a few Resse Peanut cups. $43, same Wall Mart. Which I should add is only 2 km from my residence. So $10 delievery fee including Tip.
Tell me Uber is not struggling without telling me Uber is strggling.
I'm not paying $12 extra vs competitor while also maying a monthly subscription fee.
See ya Uber.
