"stop the bleeding"? The bleeding never should have begun but you and the other Republican enablers refused to stop Trump in the first place. It's too late for you somehow to take credit for calling for a course change.
When a patient is hurt, you stop the bleeding first. Then you fix what caused it. Iowa farmers are filling combines this week at the highest diesel price this state has ever seen, while oil companies ship record amounts of American diesel overseas. Iowa families were already stretched thin.
We must immediately suspend the federal and state gas tax, sell American diesel to Americans first, and get relief to the farmers and truckers who cannot wait.
Then we fix the cause by drilling more here, selling E15 year-round, and ending the open-ended war. Last week I voted with Republicans and Democrats to do exactly that.

This is really rich. @hinsonashley @RepAshleyHinson has 100% supported every one of Trump's policies that have led to the current disasters facing Iowans. Now she wants him to fix what she helped create. Time for @turek4iowa
Iowans are being squeezed and shouldn’t have to foot the bill at the pump or the checkout line for the war in Iran. We need to use every option at our disposal to provide some relief from high prices.
That includes suspending the gas tax, pausing diesel exports, unleashing E-15 everywhere we can, reinstating the $1/gallon biodiesel tax credit, and creating a diesel relief program to help our farmers and truckers being crushed by the high costs.
While doing this, we should also ensure our highway trust fund is replenished, so that Iowans don’t suffer from crumbling roads and bridges while relief comes our way now. These actions to lower costs are needed ASAP, and the war needs to be brought to a successful and immediate end.
I am working every day to deliver bipartisan results for Iowans and I will work with anyone who is ready to tackle this challenge immediately.

Politico: Senate Leadership Fund, the top GOP-aligned Senate super PAC, is sounding the alarm in Iowa.
A memo marked confidential, a portion of which Playbook viewed, tells donors, “An additional $7 million on top of the current budget would allow SLF to double down and capture voters’ attention” to boost Rep. Ashley Hinson.
The memo continues, noting Hinson is “running an incredible campaign,” but that state Rep. and former Paralympian Josh Turek’s “image is net positive and a third of Iowa voters are still undecided.”
