IF INFLATION IS SUCH A CONCERN JIM, WHY DON’T YOU CUT IMMIGRATION AND GOVERNMENT WASTE? Unsurprisingly Labor, led by Jim Chalmers is claiming that letting people access their superannuation will cause inflation. To a degree it will, but it will also increase economic activity. I don’t seem to recall Chalmers or any Labor politician claim that spending billions of dollars on renewables was going to cause inflation - do you? If inflation is a concern then Labor could cut immigration, renewable subsidies, bureaucracy or a whole range of government waste. It should be added One Nation are not helping the cause by refusing to explain their superannuation policy to journalists. If you want to look credible you need to be able to explain why your policy is the right thing to do. Put simply Superannuation is making it harder for people to buy a home. If you’re on $80,000 your take home pay before tax without super is $64,000. After living expenses of $50,000 you might be able to save $14,000. Given super is $9,600 on $80,000, that reduces your savings capacity to around $4,000. Assuming you need to save for a house deposit of $50,000 that increases the time it takes to save for a house deposit by 6 years. Given the median price of a house is $1 million dollars and house prices are rising by 5% each year that delay in saving for a house deposit will increase the cost of a house by around $300,000. This means you have to borrow another $300,000 extending the time it will take you to pay off your mortgage in later years. It will also mean you have to pay another $18,000 a year in interest which is not tax deductible. Long story short compulsory superannuation is forcing people into more debt for longer. I can appreciate what drew is saying here, but Russians and Ukrainians are both ethnically slavic with an almost identical language, a shared Easter orthodox religion and a shared cultural and societal practices. To say that Ukraine is part of the west and not extend that to Russia is a bit of a stretch.

In light of Australia giving Ukraine further support to the tune of $60 million, bringing the grand total well over $1 billion now I've received a bit of pushback for having an opinion about the war between Ukraine and Russia. Let's be clear about what this is. This is a USA/NATO proxy war between two countries for the purpose of keeping the military industrial complex alive through selling munitions. Just like every other single large-scale war that has ever happened, it is bleeding the wealth of Western nations, killing hundreds of thousands of Christian men and forcing nations to pick a side in an unwinnable war. And to all the warmongers out there, it's very easy to support a war when you're not the one carrying a rifle. Diplomacy over death and destruction and Australia First!

What an absolute joke. Handing Ukraine money to fight in a war where they are capturing people off the street and sending them to the front lines is barbaric. We should not be picking sides in a conflict that has nothing to do with us, especially when Russia has oil to sell during a fuel shortage.

Travelling down the NSW Coast has reminded me just how beautiful Australia is. It’s important to remember this as many Australians are despondent about the state of our economy and government. While these are valid concerns we should never forget just how lucky we are in Australia. We have abundant resources and with the right management we can get Australia heading in the right direction. I often see the meme on social media saying “I love my country but hate my government.” Hate is an emotional response not a constructive response. If you truely love your country then fix the government instead. Anger is a weak man’s way of showing strength. It isn’t going to provide a better country for our children.
