So police arrested a 15-year-old boy for mocking a Tory councillor who is close with Kemi Badenoch? And now police pulled over an ad van mocking Kemi and her team? Both incidents, apparently, were called into police by Tory leadership. Is this a good use of police time? And does it tell you something about the Tory commitment to free speech? gbnews.com/politics/conserva…

Yes I did have my bank account closed. I was detained leaving a plane by men in plainclothes who refused to identify themselves and denied a solicitor. I then had my citizenship cancelled without ever being charged or put on trial. And all that happened in the United Kingdom.
Replying to @SpaceAgeMark
Rubbish, the government has access to your bank account, there’s a man on the corner watching you, you work 8/10 hours a day you got nothing you earn nothing, and those fking Russian shoes your feet are wearing through

I cannot hate them enough. It appears that it is likely if the police had done their job properly a friend might not have been brutally murdered.

If certain police weren’t taught to regard Nigel Farage as “Islamophobic” maybe they would have investigated threats against his life properly. Maybe other Reform politicians would have been safe if police had done their job. Utterly shameful @TerrorismPolice

Full credit to @AngryBritishMum for remembering what O'B said about attempts to murder Farage. Here he is, in May, mocking Farage's view of the risk to his life and dismissing the arson attack on his home that has now been confirmed as a terror attack. How to be what? [Interestingly @LBC have deleted this entire episode from their 'Whole Show' online catalog - however, they forgot iTunes.] #OBINGO youtu.be/EYyEJPWKtiY?si=hRlX…

Please can we pause to appreciate that earlier this week there was a major attempted terror attack on an RAF base? Britain is such a basket case that what would once have been deeply shocking is now just added to the steaming pile of rapes by illegal migrants, fiscal calamity etc

“The fasten seat belts sign is on”. This is a message I received early this morning from one of the UK’s most experienced, savvy and respected financial traders. Someone I have come to know and trust for the last 25 years. 10-year bond yields are now almost 4.5pc - up some 50 basis points over the last month. 30-year yields this morning went above 6pc - a 28-year high. Yet the UK’s political and media class continues to focus on party posturing and folksy rhetoric, ignoring the slow-motion disaster that has been happening on the UK’s sovereign bond markets for at least the last 18 months - a disaster that will inevitably, unless we drastically change course, turn into a fully blown market meltdown. At that point, the UK government won’t be able to borrow enough money to finance our already spiralling debt interest bill. Britain’s financial management will be taken over by overseas technocrats - that will be the condition of additional borrowing, to maintain the basic functions of the state, as happened in Greece and Italy back in the early 2010s and here in Britain 50 years ago this year (when we were forced in 1976 to apply to the IMF for a bailout). The austerity then imposed on Britain would make 2010-2019 feel like a picnic - far, far worse than it would be if we took serious action now to control our public finances. Lower-income households would suffer most - and there would be serious damage done to the UK’s already rapidly-fraying social fabric …. I have been warning about these looking fiscal dangers publicly, in my newspaper columns and elsewhere, since at least early 2024. Doing so hasn’t been easy or fun. I have been dismissed and derided by numerous economists, “economists”, officials and policymakers - as well as lots of journalists. I absolutely don’t want a disastrous 1976-style outcome - which is why I’ve taken the blows and issued the warnings. The state is too big. Public spending is out of control. Our fiscal rules are a convenient nonsense - designed to kick the can of financial reality into the future. We need to get real … and take bold action to tame the growth of spending, push back a now totally over-bearing state and snap the British economy out of today’s high-tax-high-borrowing-low-growth doom loop - the result of myopic, counter-productive policy-making by successive governments for the last decade and more … Other prominent economists who agree with me - ie who are financially-literate, can read a yield curve, have a passing interest in economic history and who understand the dangers of some 80pc of UK government borrowing going on debt interest as it currently is - need to chuck “career risk” in the bin, and start saying publicly what so many of them have, for quite a while now, only had the bottle to say to me in private … Remember: “The fasten seat belts sign is on”

“I cannot bear to see Britain in decline. I cannot BEAR it.” So said Margaret Thatcher. Many of us today share her pain. We have been governed atrociously, negligently, wilfully badly so our people pay high taxes for awful public services and the highest energy bills in the world. The cost of the weekly shop is deafening. Families have to crowdfund a new hip for a grandparent so long is the queue for an NHS operation. Maternity services are often atrocious. Many babies die unnecessarily or suffer life-changing injuries. The repayment on our national debt costs over £110 billion a year. The bond markets who lend us the money will soon stop lending. They think Burnham and co are deluded tax’n’spend Socialists. The choke chain is tightening. Morocco is offered more favourable terms than Britain. We are threadbare, humiliated. Our wealthy flee, taking billions in tax with them. The United States believes the British military is irrelevant, weak, finished, no longer of any use. But they revere our SAS, a bastion of lethal excellence currently being persecuted by its own feeble excuse for a government. The invasion on our southern border is horrifying. It endangers women and children but the Home Secretary announces more “safe and legal routes” for Palestinians and Afghans. Why? Nobody wants them. It is going to take millions of us pulling together to vote the moronocracy out. Our country is in peril. I cannot bear to see Britain in decline.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that the alliance does not take seriously Russia's warning regarding the possible use of nuclear weapons in the event of a blockade of Kaliningrad. Rutte’s boldness is understandable. NATO has essentially stopped taking Russia seriously. And that is precisely what makes the situation dangerous. By escalating tensions, NATO is backing Russia into a corner. Russia would be forced to use nuclear weapons—not out of a desire for revenge, but solely for its own survival. To prevent such a scenario, Russia must not rely on its air defenses to repel massive attacks; instead, it needs to escalate the conflict itself and destroy the entire state system of Ukraine.

An attempt by one of the pilots to cause a plane crash may have been the cause of an incident aboard a Flydubai aircraft, according to Israel's Channel 14. Preliminary investigation data indicates that the pilot suddenly put the plane into a steep dive, potentially attempting suicide. He was stopped by his co-pilot, who was in the cockpit and engaged in a physical struggle with him. The Flydubai aircraft dropped rapidly from an altitude of 10,000 meters to 4,500 meters; this moment was recorded by the service Flightradar24. The pilots of the Flydubai airliner that made an emergency landing at a Saudi airport are nationals of Oman and the UAE; the Omani pilot may have been responsible for the incident, Israel's Channel 14 reports. The pilot injured on the Flydubai flight is an Indian national named Smith Machchhar, the *Hindustan Times* reported. According to the newspaper, Machchhar was the captain of the flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv during which the co-pilot stabbed him. There is no information regarding the injured pilot's condition. Israel's Defense Minister described the incident aboard the Flydubai flight as a terrorist attack aimed at destroying the plane and killing all passengers. The pilot who stabbed his colleague during the Flydubai flight has been arrested by Saudi authorities and is being interrogated, Netanyahu stated. The Russian Consulate General in Dubai denied media reports to TASS claiming that one of the Flydubai pilots was a Russian national.
