Update: I just got back from the hospital visiting with John. He’s been doing fine since his MRI. What the hospital evaluation has shown: Brain MRI — normal Carotid ultrasound — normal ECG — normal Echocardiogram — normal Serial cardiac troponins — normal No stroke. No heart attack. Not an anxiety attack/panic attack. We are thinking his chest pain today was completely unrelated to the face droop he originally came in for. We are thinking it may be an esophageal spasm or hiatal hernia that was brought on by him lying completely flat which he generally does not do. The pain was behind his sternum. He sleeps with a 45 degree wedge pillow at home usually. Although, he doesn’t usually have reflux, but the cardiologist said that it’s likely. Hopefully he’s coming home tomorrow after his neurologist gives his blessing. Next steps will to see a gastroenterologist for an endoscopy & barium test to confirm. Thank you so much again for all our prayer warriors!! We appreciate you all more than you know!!! 🙏🏼 ✝️ #GodisGreat
John texted me he was going to his MRI around 10:25. I was on my way to the hospital and while I was getting my visitor pass and the call came over the intercom. I said out loud to the security guy, “That’s scary. My husband is at MRI.” Took my sticker and went to the elevator. I was coming up to the PACU and double checked when he had texted me to see if was possible it was him and it was within the half hour. I walked into his floor, mentioned the room and who I was seeing to the nurses and their faces said they knew something I didn’t. I asked, “was that call for my husband?” Their faces and silence said it all. I lost it and started walking to the room and asked, “is he ok though?” And the nurse said they don’t know anything at the moment and was trying to console me and about 5 mins later he rolled in the room in a wheelchair. He is OK. He has chest pain. They worked on him for a while checking vitals and such before they gave him a nitroglycerin. The pain subsided but now he is here longer as they want to double check his heart. ♥️ Please continue to keep John in your prayers!! 🙏🏼
