Again for anyone suggesting that physical mitigations don't work, especially fools that fund nonsense studies that don't use things like HEPA filters properly. You're going to have a hard time explaining this. Multi-pathogen airborne disease suppression achieved at

global scale through non-pharmaceutical interventions. You can hide behind willful nonsense. But this was the largest experiment ever run in human history & the results are PROFOUND. You are a fool to ignore it.

I once showed this exact chart to 1st year undergrads and asked if they thought it might persuade them to mask in winter flu season. They all replied no. I was delivering the lecture in a mask by the way.

Yeah it's pretty amazing, but it's the deliberate memory holing from actual professionals that has me really baffled.

Also notice how since dropping mitigations things have been getting worse every year.

Yes, I have noticed that. It's not as clear as the obvious drop during mitigations because there could be confounders, but it's absolutely of note.

Why is there such a big spike in Influenza A in 2025? Any study studying the cause?

Lots of hypothesis, but I'm not aware of any studies that show a definitive causation.

Anything published by the WHO is suspect. We want completely open peer review. All reviewer names should be released as well as their review comments.

So 100% on the flu but we still had covid? Nah, they just renamed the flu.

No that is verifiably false. There was normal or even high levels of testing for influenza. This is a real phenomenon. canada.ca/en/public-health/s…

And I bet the spikes afterwards are worse because people started to act like going to work sick is ok now + brain damage degrading critical think and empathy

We eliminated a flu strain with masking - it can be done - we lack the (political and capitalistic) will to do it

My son has had COVID twice in the last 2 years. I have HEPA filters on 24/7 and I mask if there is risk. I disinfect all surfaces. I have not tested positive or had any symptoms. Mitigation works 100%. We could stop this misery with adequate air filtration and masking.

The one thing a virus can’t evade with mutations is physics. Mask up.

HEPA filters are a proven barrier against airborne diseasesβ€”proper usage is key to saving lives. No room for debate!

Just kind of odd to suggest that masks somehow filtered out influenza during the "red rectangle" time frame, but could not filter out COVID. For your consideration...

Really boils down to disagreeing with OP claim that masks are responsible for flatline of all influenza for 2020 and 2021.

Flu crashed in Feb 2020 when mask/filter use was low, likely replaced by COVID. Masks & HEPA showed zero efficacy vs. COVID, with hundreds of millions infected despite them. when covid slowed, flu cases reappered
