We had our closing 100-year celebration ceremony last night. A plane flyover, grounds employee Dan Blackburn on the bagpipes, removal of the 100-year flag for the time capsule then a dinner in the clubhouse together as a membership.
A wonderful year it has been!

Match play, the Fried Egg Golf Events way.
This year’s annual two-day trip to Northern Michigan may have been the best yet. Kingsley Club showed off with @DeVriesDesigns in attendance and we crowned our team champions at the fan-favorite Belvedere Golf Club. If there is a better place than Traverse City in September, we’re yet to find it.

Hardelot Les Pins. Designed by Tom Simpson in 1931 (the same year that he redesigned New Zealand) and restored by Frank Pont. We found time to introduce @mikeclaytongolf to it on our way back to England. Suffice to say that he is a big fan who will be back.

A decade after the original restoration of Simpson & Mackenzie Ross's Les Pins course, Frank was onsite last week with GM XP Six and Proprietor Laurent Boissonnas reviewing matters as we consider how best to maintain its brilliance long into the future.

Hendrik spent this week with the Vingroup team at Golden Gate Ha Long, where we have designed the first 2 courses within this huge new conurbation. The scale is breathtaking - 6,200 ha of new land and 6 residential districts in what is being called "New Hanoi". A high speed rail line is being built to more than halve the travel time from Hanoi. Mangroves around the reclaimed land will be kept so as to give the courses a beautiful natural frame. We hope to begin shaping work in 2027.
