Richard, we Pakistani Americans worked and campaigned hard for Trump in the general election because his team promised us that they would make genuine efforts to restore democracy in Pakistan, end ongoing human-rights violations, and ensure fair treatment for Imran Khan. So far, however, we’ve seen little to no meaningful action on the commitments. Instead, Trump’s administration appears to be supporting Pakistan’s military rule. As a result, many Pakistani Americans who supported Trump have lost faith in him and are deeply disappointed by the direction of his Pakistan policy. We elected him, we will vote him out.
