So apparently plan mode is dead, which I never in any of my coding sessions. Models got way better at plan+execute, which begs the question: what "agentic" skill should I learn at all, if the half-life of any new "skill" is 12 months at best ?

Dunno about other people, but I love seeing beautifully written (or generated code) that prevents me from calling methods at the type-level based on the state of the object instead of `assert RubySlop.isRunning is true` kinda runtime-garbage.

Wonderful book. Last chapters starting from Swat -> Tibet were incredibly long reads. I had no idea that there were paleolithic and neolithic cultures living in and around Kashmir and it only increases my hatred for the crap that is Archaeological Survey of India even more.
Was wondering how a white woman got to travel back and forth across Delhi, Karachi,Kabul and Al-Qaeda infested tribal areas only for her to turn out to be Dalrymple's cousin. Anyway, fantastic travelogue and great dives into history and the sad fate of Hindus and Kalash.

Honestly if I were a founder making 100M ARR with 350 employees, I'd still chill. 330 more mouths fed and families sustained.
Evernote is a Bending Spoons company worth talking about.
They are doing very well post-acquisition (reportedly at $150M with 20 people). Prior to the takeover, they were doing $100M with nearly 350 employees.
The current numbers are pretty apt for a product like that.
Then there are some of these older SaaS companies doing similar revenue with 5,000-7,000 people.
Imagine them cutting down to 30 engineers and a lean ops team. They would be printing money in a way that would seem illegal.

My article about NUMA in Linux is out.
NUMA is very easy to ignore when you're developing. Your local machine probably doesn't have it, and Linux handles it transparently on your server, so you may never notice, but your performance isn't optimal, especially with memory-intensive applications.
You can probably go your whole career without knowing about NUMA and be perfectly fine. But if you're the kind of person who wants to squeeze out every last drop of performance, or who just really wants to know how everything works, this is an introduction to how NUMA works inside Linux.
