Bitget lost $351.6M from its hot and warm wallets last night.
No private keys were stolen. Attackers got into the wallet backend and fed it spoofed transaction data, so the system approved transfers that looked normal.
Same idea as the Bybit hack in 2025. Exchanges spent years locking down keys, and hackers moved to the layer that decides what gets signed.
Their $464M protection fund covers the full loss. Most exchanges couldn't say that.

There's another Hiring Scam happening on LinkedIn and X.
First they'll send you a calendar invite and ask you to join zoom lookalike tool, in my case it was 'Ovimeet'
1. The page simulates an error: "Encoding or transcoding pipeline failure".
2. It asks you to open Terminal on macOS and paste a command to "fix the video codec" with FFmpeg.
3. Interacting with the page silently copies a malicious script to your clipboard instead of the harmless command shown on screen.
The moment you run it, an infostealer executes to drain your crypto wallets (MetaMask, Phantom, etc.) and grab saved passwords.
Golden Rule: No legitimate website will EVER ask you to run commands in your Terminal to make a video call work.
If you see this, close the tab immediately. Stay safe!
Had an "interview" for a blockchain project last week.
Camera was on, we're chatting, and the guy tells me to clone a GitHub repo and run it locally before we go further into the technical round.
I said sure, but first can you do me a favor
hold up 3 fingers in front of your face for me real quick.
He froze.
Didn't move.
Just sat there for a few seconds before the call cut off and he blocked me.
That's when I knew. A real interviewer doesn't glitch out over a random ask like that. A deepfake/AI overlay does.
These "run this repo" scams are getting scary common in crypto and dev hiring right now.
The setup is always the same:
- flattering DM
- real-sounding project
- rushed timeline
- a "quick step" before the call
that's really just remote access or a credential stealer in disguise.
If someone wants you to run code or install something before you've even had a real conversation, that's the whole scam.
Trust the instinct. Stay safe out there.

The RWA story is being told wrong.
Tokenized RWAs grew from $5.4B to $19.3B in 15 months.
But tokenized Treasuries alone are now $13B.
This isn't institutions coming onchain.
It's cash management coming onchain.
The next unlock isn't another tokenized fund. It is secondary liquidity, usable collateral, and distribution.
