For me, it was a job where I just kept going, exhausted and convinced I could handle it. I’ve programmed myself to keep pushing, keep figuring it out, and put myself last because I don’t want to let anyone down.
But that turned into holding on longer than I should have. Being too loyal. Treading water at 100mph just to keep from drowning, while the people I love weren’t getting the best version of me because my cup was empty.
The “woke up” part was realizing that when everything was falling apart, I was asking God why, while still trying to take control and fix it myself. I was praying for guidance but struggling to let go of how I thought things were supposed to work out.
Looking back, something had to change because I’m still currently trying to pick up the pieces and fix all of the damage done.
