$QS: Dr. Siva Sivaram, President & CEO of @QuantumScapeCo emphasizes on the defense application of QS batteries on LinkedIn "QuantumScape is developing safe solid state battery technologies here in San Jose, California that do not use any graphite. Our core component, the ceramic separator, is made entirely of earth-abundant materials. The surest way to end U.S. reliance on Chinese graphite is to stop using graphite altogether." lnkd.in/p/gPyrD8JN

You claim Chinese batteries are a security risk, yet QuantumScape hasn't even brought a single battery to commercial mass production after multiple delays. Defense systems and drones can't fly on promise-ware—the market needs working products today, not theoretical ones.

Literally nobody has brought a solid state battery into commercial mass production yet. For several quarters now, the plan has been for QS to enter "series production" into EVs with VW by end of 2029, with demonstration vehicles sooner than that. Recently, QS added two verticals: QSAS and QSDC for expansion into non-EV markets which should commercialize faster than EVs, especially QSDC since this does not require any modification to QSE-5. The batteries work. The B samples have been shipped and sampled by many 3rd parties and Honda independently assessed QS against competitors and picked QS. It's not theoretical. It's proven. What remains is to demonstrate scaleable production with Eagle Line, which they are set to do as they have already doubled volumes in 1H 2026 and will double again in 2H 2026. Samples off Eagle Line are already being shipped to customers.

It was known already during the last conference call about it. But drone components mentioning about passing information to China has nothing to do with battery. So what is the point of mentioning on LinkedIn about ceramic separator. How far are they in technology and production

It’s about derisking from China in general. The key point is to reduce reliance on graphite which is primarily sourced from China. Read the post again.

Key word we are “developing” vs we have developed. Incomplete.

That doesn’t mean what you think it does QSE-5 already works. Honda already validated it and stress tested it against competitors. @QuantumScapeCo is a technology licensing company that is in a constant state of development. They’ve talked about new battery iterations every 18 months. For example they’re working a proprietary cathode solution as we speak.

The company is doing well though. Stock is just short term noise.

This seems like a no brainer. If QS proves economical mass production, the customers will come, including the US military. The sooner the better for all parties. The balls in Siva's court.

@grok why not using graphite is presented as an advantage
