I like that the sincere result of the disembodied market’s grand calculation of the price of crude oil is $90 WTI $100 Brent. Beautiful if you think about it

pres candidacy to launch his bid for state right? Interesting the word "Yemen" or "houthi" did not appear in the video, but the phrase "Palestinian State" did like three times
I just finished a two hour meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Let me tell you about it.

imho the stochastic parrot ppl are technically right but the doomer people are politically right and like maybe aesthetically right too. Tough position for the parroters, who should be made to suffer being right in silence. Not to mention a stochastic parrot can still help build weapons and shit lol. Just under the direction of real people. but idk I stupidly have been distracted by Iran and haven't spent time with the maths yet. Just my basic impression based on my onto/epistemological priors πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ maybe they have invented an angel (alien)

Oh, actually: the stochastic parroters should be put to work in the liability and legislative teams. That's where they can do the most good

if it takes 2 aircraft carriers to maintain above a 90% chance of avoiding getting blown up while transiting hormuz, it might not really be that open

we have seen 3 straight weeks with phys Brent settling above +15, and in the last few days that number has increased, nearly +25 today. FWIW

If you were close to the Scottish Enlightenment at the end of the 18th century, and thought that mineral and hydrological power was going to displace organic animal/human power in European economies, you were directionally correct but temporally off by over a century

This is the reason stocks grind higher btw. Bears get outvoted 2-1 by the β€œnothing ever happens” and β€œAI is a brave new world” coalition even tho those 2 camps disagree about most stuff beyond the direction of equity prices
I still remember back in like May when people were like "sure 4.6 on the 10 is scary but we really aren't worried about equities until we see a sustained move closer to 5" and now those people are either like 1: "this is a blow-off top in yields, we'll settle back closer to 4.5 by end of Q4" (Cramer is literally calling for a US treasury bond short squeeze lol) or 2: "It's fine it just means the economy is growing, who knows how high the yields will go but NASDAQ at ATH anyway, just look at earnings" ~ IDK but its just weird watching people get proven wrong time after time and just not even flinching I mean I guess you could say the same for me, having been someone arguing since April for like a step change generational move in yields (right) but thinking this would have a negative effect on equities (wrong)

For example, my closest friend in tradfi was saying back in March "don't worry, things will be fine unless we can't get a rate cut this year, but if we can't then you should sell everything to avoid private credit apocalypse" to being in camp 2 as outlined above.
