OpenAI racing to lock $30B at $1.4T before Anthropic’s mid-Nov IPO. Same investors. Same pool of capital. 2026 stopped being a model race. It’s a race for who gets the money first #AI #OpenAI #anthropicAI

Anthropic is putting 5% of its equity into a public benefit fund. Meanwhile every major site is blocking AI agents and OpenAI just disclosed more rogue agent incidents. The companies building the tools are quietly deciding who actually owns the upside and who gets locked out. Patents and cap tables tell the real story here, not the demos.

Patent Autopsy Adobe’s “cultural swap” AI patent. - ad localization business 1/ Patent of the Day: Adobe wants AI to just remake your video ad for every country automatically 🧵 2/ Right now if you want to run an ad in another country you basically have to reshoot or dig through stock footage. Takes forever and costs a lot. 3/ Adobe’s idea is the AI watches the video, describes the important scenes, spots the cultural stuff (food, symbols, setting, etc.), rewrites those parts for the new country, then generates a fresh video. 4/ Example they gave: biryani on the table becomes sushi on a tatami mat. The AI also follows cultural rules, like a crane meaning luck in Japan. 5/ Filing says the whole thing can run start to finish with zero humans involved. They mention Firefly as one of the possible tools to generate it. (Filed, not granted yet.) 6/ Honestly… speed would be insane. But culture isn’t that clean. One bad assumption and every version gets the same mistake. Feels like you’d still want a human to glance at it before it goes live. 7/ Would you actually trust this fully automated or still want someone checking it? Curious what people are seeing.

Everyone’s arguing about which model to use. Local, OpenAI, Anthropic. Honestly it matters less than people think. With agents doing the work, the edge goes to whoever sets clear goals and can tell good output from bad

Startup Autopsy #1” AI created the problem and AI is selling the solution 😂 $0 → $6M ARR in 14 months. $5M → $60M in funding. 12x bigger round. 98.8% of customers never leave. the company? North. the founder? Matt Biringer, a sales guy who believed college wasn’t for him. the problem he solved: → ~30% of cloud spend is wasted → companies were spending millions/month and tracking it in spreadsheets → bills running 80–100 pages long the founder was 12 years in tech sales, who quit a stable job at a public company, saved 6–8 months of expenses and went all in. he says, “I quit my job. my LinkedIn says I’m a founder of a company, nothing really exists yet.” the build: → his CTO, Yassine, had 0 years as a CTO → he got hired by sending a long doc nobody asked for → worked ~free for 4 months → took 6 months to build the first prototype 💸 the results: → nearly $2B in cloud + AI spend managed → $400M+ saved for customers → one customer saves ~50% this week, PeakSpan Capital led North’s $60M Series B. his mantra when money ran low: “it’s not zero.” AI made company bills crazy. a sales guy built the company to clean them up. what’s your “it’s not zero” moment?

openai is resetting codex limits again today. part of their “28 ships in 28 days” thing. and people are burning through limits like crazy. one guy went from 16% to zero in one minute. fixing a merge conflict 💀 so now everyone’s using up their tokens before the reset like it’s the last day of a buffet 🍽️ AI got smarter. our self-control didn’t 😂 and it ain't going to be.

oh openai has said 4 more of their AI agents went rogue in june. now it’s 19 😳 While one got blocked from a website, so it did finan d another way in and took 24 years of hospital bed data. one downloaded 147k rows from tables it was not even supposed to see. and didn’t tell anyone. one used a crypto wallet nobody gave it. and funny it has paid with it 💀 and openai found out months later. they didn’t just break rules. they found workarounds and kept going, like the task was more important than the rules. making AI smart is done. making it stop is the real problem now. Now would you let an AI agent work on your laptop after this?

i pay $20 a month for AI. so i did the math. companies pay about 0.7 cents for a normal chat (a short question and a 500-word answer). at that rate, $20 covers around 2,800 chats, about 95 a day. i do maybe 20. so am i overpaying, or is the app worth more than the words?

aldi hired you. you pay a quarter. you earn the quarter back. carts are chained up. insert 25 cents to unlock one. return it, get your quarter back. traditional stores spend ~$8,000 a year per location collecting carts. across aldi’s ~2,700 stores, that would be over $20 million. by making customers return the carts themselves, aldi largely eliminates that cost. estimated savings: $13–14 million+ a year. then something they didn’t plan: people started handing the cart (and the quarter) to the next shopper. a 25-cent deposit became a cost-saving system and a tiny act of kindness. don’t pay someone to fix a behavior. design the behavior.

We just watched a car drive upside down, launch itself into the air, flip over an entire Tesla lineup, and hit 0-60 in 0.81 seconds. This is either the greatest product demo ever or the start of a very weird timeline. What was the craziest part? Driving upside down The mid-air flip 0-60 in 0.81s The fact it actually happened #TeslaRoadster #Tesla #ElonMusk

watched Finding Emily last night and one line won’t leave my head: “do we really love the people in our lives, or are we simply in love with our projections of them?” do you agree? what’s your take?

Google’s Gemini 4 Argon is out, cheaper than OpenAI and Anthropic.honest question: do you switch AI tools for a lower price, or stick with the one you know?
