Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 Health Minister Dr @DembyAustin is at #UNGA81 reporting impressive declines (31%) in maternal mortality as part of Triple Zero 300 Days Campaign. Less so for child survival - 14%. Sierra Leone is heading to #UNGA81 with real results to share. Nearly 200 days into the Triple Zero campaign: 🔻31.1% drop in maternal deaths 🔻14.4% drop in child deaths — compared to the same period in 2025. Over 100% of identified zero-dose children now reached & vaccinated.

This morning, @MoH hosted the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Sierra Leone, H.E Saud Al-Musaed. @DembyAustin showcased progress of #300DaysofActivism, & both parties committed to stronger partnership towards the country’s triple zero targets for women & children.

The @GovSL, through #MoH @DembyAustin, boosts #300DaysofActivism campaign with procurement of US$2 million worth of essential medicines and reproductive health supplies — the kind that make all the difference during a Caesarean section, a normal delivery, or a health emergency.

WHO handed over USD 342,505 essential medical equipment and supplies to Sierra Leone's @mohs_sl and @slnpha this week, to strengthen public health laboratory systems and expand cervical cancer screening & treatment initiatives nationwide. Thanks to @GlobalFund and other partners.

In collaboration with #MoH, @FundDiegoGRivas, which runs a high -end theater on wheels, completed 4 complex thoracic surgeries in two days using small-cut techniques. Sierra Leone is host to the truck, which serves other countries in #Africa. Thanks to @MaadaJulius, @DembyAustin.

“We are now using latest technologies to perform top surgeries for our people.” Thanks to the @FundDiegoGRivas for providing free surgical care to patients at #ConnaughtHospital. @med_kabba62373 spoke earlier today during a courtesy call on @VP_Jalloh about the foundation’s work.

Good news as #MoH, in partnership with the @DiegoGonzalez Foundation, provides free thoracic surgeries for patients at #Connaughthospital. The foundation operates a fully equipped hospital on wheels theatre with top-quality surgical tools to treat people with chest conditions.

#MoH’s new Chief Medical Officer @med_kabba62373, today officially started work in his new role. In an emotional speech, he thanked @MaadaJulius & @DembyAustin for trusting this important office in his care; promising to give his very best for the country.
