New study featuring CADeN’s EMPOWER brochures! Brochures for PPIs, gabapentinoids and diabetes meds with risks of hypoglycemia were mailed to veterans prior to their next appointment with a primary care provider (PCP). After receiving brochures: - 29% of veterans discussed deprescribing with a PCP: 78% initiated the discussion with the PCP - 26% discussed the brochure with family & friends - 53% felt more concerned about their meds. White, educated patients were more likely to engage in deprescribing discussions, indicating a need for more tailored interventions for patients of diverse backgrounds and lower education. link.springer.com/article/10… @amy_linsky @jpendergast95 @BBokhour
