This is now bigger than Mass Effect. The amount of people, even from outside the fandom, are investigating how a franchise this big could possibly be cancelled. And we're collectively learning EVERYTHING about EA behind the scenes. And it is dire. They are so fucked.

A former BioWare employee claims the studio was asked to remove a flag from a presentation for the canceled Mass Effect Universe project because it looked too much like the LGBTQIA+ flag. The employee said the new management wasn’t convinced by the project: “I think the video proposals we presented to the new management weren’t convincing.” They also said BioWare being known for inclusive storytelling “didn’t help to dispel the skepticism.” One specific example involved a flag in a presentation video. The team was asked to remove it because it was: “looking too much like the LGBTQIA+ flag” The reason given was reportedly: “not to offend.”

An important thing to keep in mind: This petition is largely being supported by diehards. The people who would have gone out and bought the game on day one, no matter what. This is not yet counting the millions of casuals who would have been swayed by a good ad campaign. A publisher which is massively in debt just made yet another costly mistake.

BioWare wollte es so machen, dass man hier aber auch seine eigene Timeline kreieren kann, egal wie man sich entschieden hatte. - Das Spiel fand Wege, dennoch Quests möglich zu machen.
