If Hyperliquid was a Lego set I’d say we are only on page 6.
We are starting to see it come together but there is still so much unknown.
I don’t think this is the final iteration of the evm. I think the team has it on the back burner for now.

Wonder if there's room to increase capital efficiency, 82.7% LTV on LSTs on Hyperlend feels too low, the derivative risk feels overindexed with these parameters. stETH and rETH are typically >92%.

I have a long written theory on how Hyperliquid is actively killing the main benefits of traditional staking economics.
Hyperliquid’s market structure make 40-years of Staking Emissions a VERY POOR use of protocol resources.
Jeff will kill the LST leverage that drives Ethereum’s DeFi ecosystem with Portoflio Margin; after that, network native yield serves no purpose.
Staking Yield != network activity on HL
HL could entirely cut staking emissions and it would probably be a net driver of protocol growth.
- less user demand for staking means more HYPE for portfolio margin, which drives protocol fees and burn.
- The continuous driver of HYPE staking demand is not yield, its protocol utility: HIP-3/HIP-4 500k stake, AQAV2 1M stake, Fee Discount 10-500k HYPE staked, Foundation Node low-latency access 10k HYPE staked, and I promise you there will be more ….
This is structurally a different staking economy where HL DeFi activity & holder base is NOT driven by staking yield.
Most of Ethereum’s DeFi activity lives downstream of the LST levered loop, which is why it’s treated as first class (not “network security” lol. EigenLayer proved that network security does NOT cost any meaningful % of token supply).
Staking Yield is to spur network activity on ETH/SOL & drive locked tokens. Jeff has other ways to drive tokens to get locked (forcing every business partner to buy&stake) + user staking actively pulls funds outside of PM.
Jeff is pulling all the HYPE liquidity back to HyperCore for Portfolio Margin. The native yield DeFi flywheel that SOL & ETH need …. Hyperliquid does not need.
The native staking yield just doesn’t do much for Hyperliquid like it does in other ecosystems.
It’s structurally why LSTs are supposed to shift their function -> tokenized utility instead of tokenized yield…. $sthype
