New ambulance bay door at the Innisfail Hospital! Finally. After years of local advocacy and pressure on AHS to prioritize rural healthcare, Innisfail now has an ambulance bay that can actually fit an ambulance. A prime example of how our healthcare reforms are changing how AHS operates. Frontline workers and local concerns are being listened to, respected, and acted upon.

Global uncertainty continues to push energy prices higher, and that’s putting more pressure on Albertans’ wallets. Today I announced that relief is on the way. Starting Oct. 1, Alberta will suspend the full provincial fuel tax, saving Albertans 13 cents per litre on gasoline and diesel every time they fill up until the end of the year. This is practical relief that helps families, workers and businesses keep more money in their pockets. Albertans already pay the lowest overall taxes in Canada, and this cut adds to our unmatched tax advantage.

Twenty-five years ago today, the world witnessed the deadliest terrorist attack in human history, which took nearly 3,000 innocent lives, including those of 24 Canadians. In the years that followed, thousands more would lose their lives to illnesses linked to the attacks. Today, Alberta joins people across Canada, the United States, and around the world in remembering those who were taken from us, the families who still carry their loss, and the first responders whose extraordinary courage saved countless lives. Twenty-five years later, we’re reminded of the compassion and friendship that have long united Canada and the United States. We remember the Canadians who opened their homes and communities to thousands of stranded travellers, and the thousands of brave Canadians who answered the call to defend our country and our allies in the War on Terror, especially the 158 Canadian Armed Forces members who lost their lives. We have always stood and will continue to stand side by side with our American neighbours in times of need, and as friends and allies, we remain resolute in defending the freedoms and values that terrorism sought to attack. We will always remember.
