🔥EDUCATION REFORMS PAYOFF: 25+ Years of Higher Ed Reforms Pays Off BIG LEAGUE in Florida; 7 of 12 Public Universities Make US News Top 100 College Rankings
Over the past 25+ years, Florida has gone to great lengths to reform its higher education system.
In 1997, the state introduced the Bright Futures Scholarship Program, aimed at keeping high-achieving high school graduates within Florida’s colleges and universities.
Most recently, Florida has led the nation in removing radical social justice curriculum and DEI programs from its campuses.
The payoff has been impressive. Florida now has 7 of its 12 public universities ranked in the US News Top 100 Public Universities. Accomplishments include:
- Florida offers the lowest average in-state undergraduate tuition and fees among all 50 states
- 80% of in-state undergraduates graduate without taking out any federal student loans
- The 4-year graduation rate across the 12 FL institutions has climbed to 66% (compared to ~45% nationally).
- Florida’s 12 public universities saw RECORD demand, with close to 450,000 applicants this year.
