Serious question If Jesus is God and Mary gave birth to Jesus what exactly are Catholics saying wrong when they call her Mother of God? Are you denying Jesus is God, or denying Mary gave birth to Him?

God is the Office of the Heavenly Authority. That Authority and Nature has been demonstrated in three persons according to the Bible. God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. Also, Jesus as God Incarnate on earth did not negate the existence of God the Father or God the Holy Spirit. They have always existed simultaneously in perfect union in the Heavenly Authority as God. Mary did not give birth to God the Father or God the Holy Spirit. Mary is not the "Mother of God". Mary is the mother of Jesus. Hope that cleared it up.

You don’t believe in or you don’t understand the Trinity.

Wrong. What I don't believe in is the assigning of Divinity or Divine Titles to a person who knew she needed the Saviour from God just like the rest of humanity. I also don't believe in the power of physical relics or the infallibility of the Pope. That's just way too cultish for me and doesn't align with what read Jesus or His Disciples saying in the Bible.

You believe in Nestorianism. An ancient heresy condemned at the Councils of Ephesus and Chalcedon. You are a heretic. Repent, for the sake of your eternal soul.

🤣 Thankfully my eternal soul doesn't rely on your cult's opinion. God exists as 3 distinct persons with the same Divine Nature. God existed long before the world or Mary existed. Mary gave birth to the physical incarnation of the Word of God and His name is Jesus. She did not give birth to the other 2 persons of the Triune God. She is not the mother of "God". She's the mother of the only Begotten Son of God. His name is Jesus. Jesus is both fully Man and fully God existing as one being who is now both physically and spiritually seated at the right hand of God the Father and has been given all authority over Heaven and Earth from which to judge the living and the dead. Of these truths there is no doubt.

And round and round we go!🤣 Older, wiser, men than you or I, with more authority, have already hammered this out. You're pissing in the wind. The hubris is remarkable.

Giddy Up! 🤣 But I appreciate the prompt to learn more about Nestorianism and the battle between the Church of Constantinople and the Church of Alexandria. Here's the best summarion of Nestorianism I found on YouTube. youtu.be/HKyZ_gySdEk?si=TEwR… Now I absolutely affirm the Hypostatic union of Human and Logos that is Jesus. He was not just a human carrying the Divine Logos nature like a piece of luggage. He is the physical incarnation of the Logos itself and He has both full Human and Logos natures in one being. That's how he's our High Priest. But I can say this and still reject the characterization of Mary as "The Mother of God" since the title of "God" applies to all three persons "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit". In a lot of ways, it seems this early Church schism was more about protecting Mary's title than overturning the actual specifics of the heresy. Cheers.
