The purpose of the prequels with regards to telling Anakin's story is to showcase why he's a failure AND the person that Luke, the original hero, MUST rise above. MUST be better than.
Anakin had everything, but his bad decisions, which were STILL HIS, ruined EVERYTHING for all.
They miss the mark that Anakin is not a great man
He is a pawn
