To my knowledge, no BFDI x II meetup has EVER expected its staff to work voluntarily. Everybody I know who's worked the merch lines or any other positions have been compensated fairly (myself included, I helped work merch in NY 2023)

I worked at the merch stand during the 2024 NYC tour and everything Damien reported here was in line with what I experienced.
There were consistent reminders throughout the tour to keep the greenroom open for the merch team, none of this was unique or targeted at one person.
