I'm sorry, but I find this whole Fortnite token situation incredibly manipulative.
Let's be honest, the main reason people are searching chests right now is the possibility of finding that ridiculously rare token~ 🫠 Epic is dangling an enormous amount of FREE cosmetics in front of players, giving them a limited window to find it and encouraging them to keep playing, searching and searching.
Some will find it within a few games, others could spend hours every day for an entire month and never find it.
And with GTA 6 dropping in 17 days, I can't help but wonder whether keeping players engaged has become particularly important.
It's clever engagement strategy, perhaps, but at what point does rewarding players become exploiting their fear of missing out?
