Gotta be honest with you, Xbox gamers—you didn’t support Gears of War: E-Day.This is a fantastic game. It earned those rave reviews for a reason, and in my opinion it’s one of the best entries in the series. You spent years asking for proper exclusives, yet when one finally showed up, a lot of you chose to rent it instead of buying it.Only about 62,000 Xbox players actually purchased the game, while Steam moved over 220,000 copies. I love Game Pass—I really do—but if we’re being real, in its current form it undercuts full game sales on Xbox. Gears pulled in around 3 million users. Imagine if even a solid portion of those people had actually bought the game. It would’ve easily topped Wolverine’s sales. Game Pass has to change if Xbox wants to make real money and actually sell its own games.
