"Safe" is just not an accurate way to communicate medical risk. And it's especially poor when describing a complex & heterogeneous group of agents like vaccines.

Please share: Dear Mr. President and Mr. Secretary, I am writing as an American paramedic and father. I am asking you to help a British physician, Dr. David James Cartland (MB ChB, University of Birmingham, 2008; formerly on the UK GP register), come to the United States with his family and work here under a system that still claims to value informed consent and free speech. Dr. Cartland is a general practitioner who worked in primary care, A&E, out-of-hours urgent care, and outreach. Colleagues and patients described a previously unblemished clinical record. His patient care was not the charge that ended his career. What ended it was that he spoke publicly against the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, especially to children and pregnant women, and refused to treat moral dissent as a crime. In June 2025 the UK’s Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service ordered him erased from the General Medical Council register. The tribunal found social-media misconduct and alleged dishonesty related to COVID exemption discussions. Dr. Cartland did not accept those findings as a fair account of what he did. He has said he never administered the COVID shots, that he was goaded and abused online, and that he was denied a full chance to put on his defense. There is no criminal conviction. There is no finding that he harmed a single patient in clinic. That was not the end of it. The Disclosure and Barring Service then placed him on barred lists used for people judged as risk to children and vulnerable adults. The soccer Association then banned him from refereeing, including adult and veterans matches that are not regulated child-safeguarding work. A man with no criminal record, no patient-harm finding, and no football misconduct record was treated as if he belonged with predators. That is extreme punishment for speech. He and his family are willing to leave the United Kingdom and come here. They are not asking for a parade. They are asking for a country that will let a trained physician work. I am not asking you to pretend the UK tribunal never happened. I am asking you to treat this as what it is, a skilled doctor driven out for opposing coercive COVID policy. If the United States is going to be the gold standard for medical freedom, this is a test case. What I am requesting: 1. Direct HHS and relevant immigration channels to review Dr. Cartland and his family for lawful entry and work authorization on an expedited basis whether through existing skilled-worker routes, a humanitarian or public-interest pathway, or any authority you can lawfully use. 2. Direct HHS to identify how a physician in his position can serve here: state licensure support, a supervised practice pathway, research or clinical-advisory work that does not require immediate independent licensure, or a role defending informed consent and vaccine-injury recognition. 3. Make clear, publicly if you choose, that the United States will not treat honest COVID dissent as moral dirt. Britain struck him off and then stacked barred lists and a football ban on top of it. We can do better than that. I have spoken with Dr. Cartland. He and his family want to come. If you need introductions, records, or a call, I will gladly arrange it. America does not need every doctor who kept his head down. It needs the ones who would not. Please help this family leave a system that locked him out of medicine and took his whistle on a Saturday soccer game, and let him practice under a standard worthy of a free country.
